I wait for the time to pass, I wait with my book 

brooding over the same lines again,

toxic comments, 

rage! 

I pick up my guitar to practice licks like three Kings 

strapped up and live, howling Freddie, 

crooning Albert, 

BB King!

until the screen is washed red with views, 

sensational news, 

fake! 

I make my way to the kitchen to boil broth 

dunk a pack of ramen for five minutes, 

pour sauce, 

simmer!

until the screen is flush with pixels, 

silicone implants, 

fap! 

I lay back on my bed and stare at the ceiling, 

prepare a mental list of things to do, 

note to self, 

don’t!
